Nah. You could always distress it, you know, relic it. Isn't that what Fender do?

How about preloading it with half dozen Dampits and a couple dead pickup systems inside, plus a trem bridge mod. Loosen the top from waist to waist so that he gets a whammy bar effect every time he leans back for a full-bodied chorus of 'Forest Lawn' or 'Who's Garden Was This'?

Know what I mean?

So you're going to take this bigwig DC attorney's guitar, paint it yellow, and hand it back to him? I really like this idea. :)

TV yellow is supposed to start with bleached mahogany - if you want to be authentic, and the whole point was to not have white guitars that looked like glowing suns on black and white TV. Not sure if it has a practical application WRT color HD TV. A 50's style limed finish might look good though -- translucent white lacquer with a tinted amber clear coat to tone it down a bit.

There's always that stick on wood grain vinyl shelf liner stuff.

Might be cheaper just to buy him a circular polarizer filter for his camera to tame those reflections.

Elvis style full top leather pickguard with his name and 800 number hand tooled over the lower bout. Prefect on TV and feedback is gone forever.

Maybe give it the once-over with steel wool? Also... the old trick with freon.... freeze the nitro so it cracks.

And to think that you could have just used a sawed up shelf board and saved yourself all of this headache.....

No medullary rays... Check!

but I am liking the Satin idea best..... It will probably be enough to tone it down without making it look crazy...

Todd:
A light coat of "Bondo" all over...!! Also you could start a recovery program for guitar abusers and please include the ones who use guitars for drums and tom-toms .
